Rob Reider Air Show Announcer

Rob Reider Air Show Announcer

Welcome to RobReider.com. I'm honored to be able to announce some of the greatest aerial events
in North America and to share the joy and freedom of flight with all who attend these shows.

The 2007 air show season is complete, the ICAS convention is over and we're all looking forward
to the upcoming year's aerial events. I'm already in "air show withdrawal" and really am eager
for things to get started! I had a very successful convention and will be at 21 shows.

In January I spent a week in Yuma with the Golden Knights, working as a narrator coach,
my third year to be able to serve the men and women of the Army Parachute Team.
I also want to thank them for making me an "Honorary Golden Knight" at their reunion in
Fayetteville, North Carolina on December 8th.

I also worked with the Air Force ACC demo team narrators at the Heritage Flight Conference in
March at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. I'm honored to be able to do this work.

At the Chairman's Banquet at the International Council of Air Shows Convention on December 13th
I was awarded the ICAS "Sword of Excellence." It is the highest award given in the air show
industry. To say that I am honored is just not enough. I'm grateful to all in the business
who have given me opportunities, encouraged me, and allowed me to serve this great family.

Thanks.

I hope to post some pictures of the event and perhaps even have a video clip of the ceremony.
I was totally surprised by the award and it was a most emotional time for me.

I also want to invite you to join us in our online air show community, airshowbuzz. Check the site - it's for
all of us who love air shows. www.airshowbuzz.com.

Please join me in thanking all the men and women of our armed forces for their willingness to protect the
freedom that we all enjoy. Veterans, Active Duty, Reserve, and National Guard personnel - we owe them our gratitude.

The words of Marine Corps Chaplain Father Dennis O'Brien say it best:

"It is the soldier, not the poet who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the soldier, not the reporter who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the soldier, not the campus organizer who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.

And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag,
and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who gives the protester the right to burn the flag."
